Semen Ziraat, with more than 10 Agricultural Engineers on its staff and the capacity to produce and prepare 5,000 tons of certified seed annually in its facilities located in Adana and Mersin, is the leading investor in the agricultural sector.

Carrying out R&D activities with 10 R&D employees in 5 locations in Turkey, Semen Ziraat allocates 10% of its annual return to R&D studies. It develops seed varieties that are most suitable to the soil and the climate, resistant to stressful conditions, and fertile with its ‘Superior improvement’ strategy for the Turkish farmer and targeted geographies in its R&D stations located in Adana, Mersin, and Balikesir. R&D investments in hybrid sunflower, hybrid corn, cotton, and beans are based on competitive variety development and marketing and promoting the developed variety to the European Union, Black Sea belt, Middle East, Middle Asia, and Africa in the most effective way.
