For this reason, no sacrifice is avoided for the execution of competitive improvement and product development systems at internationally valid standards in the improvement and product development activities of vegetable, field, industrial, and forage crops.
Semen Ziraat, which carries out R&D activities with 10 R&D employees in 5 locations in Turkey, carries out improvement activities in Hybrid Sunflower, Hybrid Corn, Cotton, and Bean varieties.
The Research Station in Adana and Mersin is used for the improvement of vegetables, field crops and the sustainment of pure breeding seed stock; Research Stations in Adana and Izmir are used for Hybrid Corn and Cotton improvement activities, and Sunflower improvement activities are carried out in Thrace. The available controlled greenhouse infrastructure allows for uninterrupted improvement activities 12 months a year and speeds up the product development processes.
In addition, in Central and Southern hemisphere countries such as Chile, Argentina, Mexico, and South Africa, improvement activities are continued during the winter period, genetic purity testing and off-season rootstock seed increment studies are carried out.
